Website redesign

in house design project

Brief

Form A Sign is a company based in Melbourne, who do a large range of signage from stickers, business signs, vehicle wraps to marine flooring. I was brought on to the team to redesign their promotional materials and website. Form A Sign had two websites, one for signage and one for vehicle and boat wraps. The old websites were dated and not user friendly with broken links and a high bounce rate. I was asked to combine both websites into one and update it to align with their new palette and a more modern user friendly design.

redesign

My workplace was updating their brand colours from blue and yellow/orange to black and white, I drew inspiration from monochromatic designs and knew instantly I wanted it to be an image heavy website as the old sites were largely text based and for a visual sign writing company this had to change.

Using WordPress with the Divi theme, I created the new website from the ground up. Divi gives you complete design control with it’s visual builder theme. I wanted the design to be clean and authentic, highlighting the business as small family owned. As well as this I needed to highlight all the different kinds of signage, stickers and wraps Form A Sign makes in a user friendly, easy to use design.

ecommerce

A major addition to the website was the introduction of the ecommerce (shop) section.
Using the WooCommerce plugin as a foundation I created the shop section of the website in Divi. With the rise in online shopping and Covid-19 an online shop was a great way to ensure the business was still able to continue to reach customers. This was a huge learning curve as it was something I had never dabbled in but was a please to create and a great learning experience.
